In 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau begins its once-a-decade tradition of counting every person in the United States. A census form is sent to all households in the country, with most households receiving the form in mid-March. Information collected from the census includes: a phone number, whether the home is owned or rented; and the number of residents in each household, including their age, gender, race/ethnicity and relationship to one another. Individual responses to the census are securely collected and not shared with the public or federal agencies for 72 years. The Census Bureau is making it easier than ever to respond by allowing you to submit your form online, by phone or by mail.
