Preschool Summer Reading
This program is designed for little ones ages infant to 5yrs to encourage a love for reading.
This reading program will encourage reading with fun goodie bags and prizes! Be sure to collect your registration bag to start your summer off right! Read a total of 80 books to win your end of summer prize bag!
80 books over the 8 weeks of summer reading shakes down to 2 books a night for 5 nights a week! For every 10 books read, your child will win a prize bag! Read all 80 books and your child is entered in to win the grand prize drawing.

Register online through ReadSquared. Please note, you as the parent do not have to register in a program, you can choose to not register for a program or register for our adult summer reading challenge, and then after you have entered your info as the parent/guardian, proceed to enter in your child's information and register them for the program.
Also, if your child is in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program, (If they aren't, we definitely encourage you to do so!) you can still register your child in the summer reading program by 'adding a new child' and submitting the same info for your child. Once registered you can log the same book at one time for both programs!
If logging individual books isn't something you want to do, You can bring a list of your books to a librarian and we can bulk add your books to your account!
Join Mrs. Emily each Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 at the Chelsea Community Center for Tot Time! We will read stories, play games, sing songs, and have so much fun! *Note that the Wednesday & Thursday storytimes are the same program just on different days.
We will be showing weekly movies at the Chelsea Community Center at 1pm each Tuesday. Be sure to bring a drink, we will provide all the popcorn you can eat! Check out the link below to see our movie line up!
The library will be hosting performers each week with fantastic shows! These programs tend to be geared towards K-6th grade, but we would love for everyone to participate. Out of safety concerns, we ask that you please sit with your little ones during the program. Check out more information below!
During the month of July on Wednesdays at 2pm at the Chelsea Community Center, we will be hosting craft activities. These crafts will be for Kindergarten and up only due to safety concerns. We will have coloring pages available for anyone under 5yrs to do while your older kids create our craft for that day.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten:
Why not knock out two programs at one time? With read squared you can log one book for both programs at one time! We encourage all young readers to enroll in this program as it is proven to increase children's literacy before entering Kindergarten. Find out more info HERE!
If you would like help with bulk adding books to your account, bring a list or a number of books read to a librarian and they can add them super quick for you!
